In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] 0.9.5 problemsBingo.
Since I’d deleted the blc plugin files to get back my admin screens, there were left-over blc database tables, so I deleted all of them and started over.
Good news: now, no white screens.
I tried a “network activate” and in my “next” site, I received the following error:
“Database error : Table ‘TABLE-NAME.wp_12_blc_links’ doesn’t exist”
So, I deactivated, and reactivated one site at a time. First site worked great. Subsequent sites timed out; perhaps the script was busy with the initial (major) link scan, because about 1 minute later, I refreshed the page and all of the links were accounted for (more than 500).
Overall, everything slowed down for about 10 minutes, probably during initial checking, and timed out. Then, as I activated each site, working great!
So, initial questions:
– Is there any way to throttle initial checking so it doesn’t slow down the whole instance, causing timeouts?
– Would it then be possible to network activate?
That said, now that the initial check is done, all is working great (with site-by-site activation)!

In reply to: [Easing Slider] [Plugin: Easing Slider] Multisite? Thanks for letting me know.
A follow-up.
I added the template tag <?php related_entries() ?> to the PHP page widget and the related entries appeared!
So, for me, the widget isn’t working on pages, but the template tag does.
I’m having a similar issue, and here’s how I tested it.
I created a post, and then created a new page and pasted the exact same title and all the body text into it.
I checked “Cross-relate posts and pages?” in the settings.
I activated the widget for page bottom and single bottom (in Thematic).
The result: the post showed the identical page and 10 others in the Related widget.
But, the identical page had no Related entries at all.
Do you have any suggestions?
I got the exact same error, too. Having never see that error before, it’s somewhat unnerving, even if it is nothing to be concerned about.
My server runs PHP 5.3.0 and MySQL 5.0.67.
What else do you need to know?

In reply to: Why has WP stopped giving developers love? That’s a good point.
I liked having those links in one place so I could quickly evaluate plugins, so I hope developers will add them into the text manually.

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] 0.9.5 problemsI tried activating three ways:
Automatically, then network activate – white screen on all backends
Automatically, then single-site activate – first site works fine, next one, white screen
Manually in /mu-plugins/ with no effect at all.My server access logs didn’t show anything unusual. If there’s a plugin conflict, I’ll try disabling them in development.

In reply to: Why has WP stopped giving developers love?I found the links to each developer’s Web site and plugin page were very helpful in evaluating the context for the plugin: longevity, sustainability, references to other plugins. Moving those links away just makes that harder to do.

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] 0.9.5 problemsLet me activate it again and catch the server logs.
I saw that change. A disservice to users, too. I investigate the developer’s site and plugin in documentation as a way of evaluating the quality and sustainability of a plugin.
Perhaps there’s a more productive place for this discussion (the topic is new to me).
Thanks, John25. I’ve always been impressed with all the work done by WP volunteer plugin developers.
This is important to me, as well.
I use Geo Mashup and GD Rating, too.
