I ended up scraping my wordpress ambitions for this project entirely and ended up going with Opencart. It seemed better suited for what I wanted to do with respect to ecommerce.

I love wordpress but it didn’t fit for me in this situation. I kind of feel like I’m cheating on my first love but what can you do?
