It looks like header.php is the place to make this change then … ?

As for index.php, mine has no reference to anything except as I described it. Call me kooky, but I shouldn’t have to dive 4 layers deep into the code, and then guess which of the 15 files that wp-settings pulls in is the one I need to change, just to make a simple change to the main page for the site. As a user who didn’t write this code, I have no assurance that changing files in this manner won’t have unintended consequences, such as being included from multiple places. Is there doc for this? If not, there should be.

I should probably mention that the site in question is NOT the one linked in my profile, it’s jeffbrokaw.net/wp/index.php, at least until I get this working completely.

Thanks for the suggestions, and I tried both of these multiple times, in both Firefox and IE, nothing works. Something is majorly hosed. I rarely use IE, and have never used it for WordPress, so there is no issue of saved forms or passwords or cookies in that case at least. WTF … ?
