Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Post visual editor and html – ongoing issuesHello Esmi
I’m happy it’s back up, although lack of widgets is a wee bit annoying…. I can’t win.
I’ve contacted my host, so hopefully they can help with it.
Honestly, I have no idea about anything WordPress anymore. It was all fine and then just after I put my site live it all went topsy turvy with these issues.
I was told my site was hacked a couple weeks back and it all started after that. I changed my FTP log in and wordpress password, not sure if there’s anything else I need to change too?

No.I just took the backup and downloaded onto my ftp and it’s working. And this morning when I checked, the visual editor is back and working!!! so something kicked in! 🙂
Although I have one problem, now I can’t see anything on my widgets page. so even when you look at the site….everything is in the right place, but on my widgets page on the dashboard, there’s nothing, so I can’t edit/move any widgets, as there aren’t any…
So slightly new problem….any ideas on how to get them back? seems like there’s just something not in place..

In reply to: Post visual editor and html – ongoing issuesHi Esmi
I had some issue so backed up and redownloaded everything. My icons in the initial list of posts in the dashboard is showing and now when I click to upload, the pop up upload box now shows in the centre of the page (before it was showing partially off page and i couldn’t access it, so something worked by doing that….
The only think not working is still the visual editor…. I guess hopefully there will be a fix.
i appreciate your quick responses, and if something does turn up to fix this problem, let me know.

Thanks. I have removed. My host couldn’t find anything either. They tried to remove and reinstall plugins as per the advice on the threads.
I have noticed that some of the file permissions on my folders/files are not granted for owners etc… so the wp-confid file hasn’t got the execute box ticked under owner permissions. Does that make a difference?
Do you think redownloading wordpress from the beginning will help. I.e. start agin? If I do that, will I lose everything?
I have no idea what to do and it’s really getting to me.

In reply to: Post visual editor and html – ongoing issuesHi there
I’m still having issues with the post viual editor and no one has been in contact with any other suggestions. I’ve read threads in the forum and did all of the points they say to do. It’s really annoying me now and I can’t do anything with a post. i’ve tried:
deactivate plugins, reset plugin folder, try a new theme…everything.
This is really putting a damper on my updating the site with posts.
Any ideas? i don’t know what else to try. The problem started before updating to the new software version. I had hoped it would fix itself, but it didn’t….
Can you please help? Using 3.4 recently….
