I didn’t get it to work…I’ve been cropping these images myself. I let my wife upload them and see if it will do it automatically, and if not I just crop the images for her. there’s no rhyme or reason to whether or not it decides to crop them. some it does, some it doesn’t…

ok, this looked like it was exactly what I was looking for, except that the theme she used doesn’t have a single.php file…and when I look at the category-66.php file, I can’t find where it calls the comments_template. ?? I’m confused. is there something I’m missing?

so that’s it? no work arounds or plugins? I found ThemeDreamer and am trying that out, but is there anything else out there that works better?

or maybe I should ask a different question…does wordpress NEED to keep everything separate? does it have to call in the headers and footers and sidebars w/php instead of just having them all on the index file? I’m not a programmer, so I don’t understand everything about why php does the things it does, but if you just put the header and footer and all that onto the index file and do it that way, will it mess everything up? is it strictly because of the WP editor on the back-end? if I didn’t care about using the wp editor, would it work to put it all together?

ok, so it’s fixed in safari, but IE is not displaying the header bg image…all I did was change the CSS from “background-image:url(…” to “background:url(…” could this be a difference between IE and safari? if I use the -image it disappears in Safari, but if I use just background, it shows just fine. firefox displays everything, regardless of using -image or not…stupid IE…
