In reply to: issue with google analytics & blog URL ending with/wpMore to the point, I was hoping that some person may have experience with google’s own system of supplying analytics and possibly save me from delving in the guts of my own site.
I can get into my site admin area by renaming the plugins folder and then it stays accessible for a while. My own user profile states an e-mail address for me but I have always been asked for a user name to access the site.
The All in One WP Security and Firewall plugin has been deleted but the plugin keeps asking me to login using my e-mail address. The e-mail address was never set up as the access to WP and I don’t know how to ensure that it has a password that matches my admin password when entering my user name.
PHP database access is not available to me through CPanel although I may be able to gain access by requesting the ISP to change something. I could also potentially edit the htaccess file.
Once the plugin was deleted I do not understand how it is able to continue to request an e-mail access to the site, when I never used it previously. I am sure that the plugin would be helpful if I could reset all that it had changed and then implement things in a more controlled manner. I think that when it showed my security as a number (often zero) I just wanted to improve matters and did it in a manner that was not sensible.

In reply to: Site suddenly unavailable – Is this an Updraft issue?I was able to disable all of the plugins through my ISP’s CPanel and file manager.
The re-enabling of my plugins was going well until I tried to re-enable Updraft. It is still refusing to play ball so I think it may be broken in some subtle way which I cannot figure out yet. I will post my issue on the Updraft support area and see what can be done.Thank you very much for your assistance. I am no longer locked out of my blog. 🙂

In reply to: Occasional Dashboard AccessThis issue has now resolved with a move away from the Safari web browser which is the standard web browser supplied with OS X. I don’t have sufficient knowledge to know why things went wrong but the use of Aviator web browser has cured the issue. Aviator is a secure web browser for both the OS X and Windows platforms and it can be obtained at the link below:

I don’t understand why the UpdraftPlus application stopped working. Google claimed that the drive was configured and authenticated correctly. I spent some time trying to re-authenticate the Google drive as you have suggested but no success there. I deactivated and deleted UpdraftPlus and then reinstalled it. Still no joy with Google drive activation.Eventually, the Google drive authentication defeated me. It was taking far too much of my time and without knowing what I am doing, I was reluctant to spend any more time on the issue. I had an authenticated Dropbox drive and that is what I am now using because it has worked for me. The Google drive issue has not gone away… I am just not using it. I have current backups now and that is all that I wanted to have.
It may be helpful is to discover why a system that was evidently correctly set up (it worked every day without fault) and was working for some time, suddenly decided to stop working. It may well be user stupidity but I had not adjusted or altered anything nor had I installed any new plugins so my uneducated guess is that the problem lies elsewhere.
I am so sorry to have bothered you with what must appear to you to be a rather trivial issue.

I am still not successful in getting my Updraft Plus backup to work. It was working fine before it went down on 24th April. Now it is not working at all. Google Drive appears to be properly configured but I think that the log suggests that the problem may be with Google Drive. Please can you assist me.The link is to the log file. I was hoping to buy this backup solution but I have not had a response to my previous request for support. I look at the FAQ and thought that I had posted in the correct place but maybe not. I am a newbie to blogging and running a website. My blog is linked to below.

Hi David,
I am not sure what has happened but Updraftplus 1.9.5 has stopped doing its stuff. I had not noticed but its last backup was apparently on 23/4/14. I am a complete newbie to this sort of thing and have no idea how to fix it. I have checked the Google API Console and all of the information held there appears to be the same that is visible on my computer.Last backup job run: (red text) Have not yet obtained an access token from Google -you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive.
I don’t know how to do that and would appreciate it if you could walk me through that process.
The internal ID number for Google drive, the Google drive client secret and the google drive client ID are all correct. Please advise.
