In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Optin box not displaying textSorry shouldve thought to check that. Looks like they changed the class for that element so my other css stopped working to display it. Ive fixed it now. Thanks.
I think that would work better then having to upload the full-size retina version through FTP.
Would you need two upload though? If the user uploaded the 2x size image wouldn’t you be able to generate the normal size? The would obviously have to upload the full size images through your interface and then add the media on whatever page or post.
It was just a thought I had once understood how your plugin worked and I thought, if it could do that it would be very helpful for me and I am sure for others that use your plugin.
I understand how your plugin works and I realize that the full size image is used to generate the smaller retina versions. What I am suggesting is that it would also be a great feature if you set up the full size image to be able to generate a retina version. You would just need to have instructions when uploading that to generate the image for full custom size images you would need to upload the image at double the size that you want it to display. So in fact you would be uploading the retina size for your custom size images and the plugin would generate the normal size image.
I disagree that you should never be using the full size image. For advanced wordpress users that create their own graphics you do not want your images constrained to certain dimensions. The main reason I would like this feature is for my websites case studies. I display large images at custom sizes and would like them to be retina with out having to manually upload 2 images. http://arcainteractive.com/arca-interacive-design-portfolio/checkpass-business-solutions/
I have a similar question. I am using your plugin in a multi site configuration and it generates the default sizes @2x images just fine. Below is my media settings for images.
- thumbnail (150×150)
- medium (350×350)
- large (1024×1024)
The problem is it does not generate an @2x image for the full size image. In most of the images on my site I am using the full size image. I attempted to drag an drop the larger image and then generate the @2x image but it did not work. If I directly load a larger file in to the uploads folder with @2x extension the retina image will show up because of the retina.js. Going forward I would like to be able to upload large images and have them generate the half size @2x image. Is this something that is suppose to currently work on the plugin or would this be an enhancement? So basically it would need to take the full size image as the @2x image and generate the normal image at half the size.
