Thanks for all the help.. Since you all insisted there was a /DIV missing somewhere.
I found that in comments.php, a /DIV tag was placed inside an conditional block. In my case it was not executed and resulted in the missing closing tag.

nope.. That is something I already checked.
I am new to wordpress so I don’t know yet the details on exactly which scripts are called by what GET statements.
eg. I do not see the problem when I retrieve the post via a category GET :
