Absolutely.
I deleted Akismet plus a couple of site builder plugins authored by GoDaddy. I don’t remember the exact names of the GoDaddy plugins, I’m sorry.
I also updated Jetpack.
Otherwise I’m running an extremely lean install of the latest version of WordPress. Mostly because I am just getting started with the new site.

I went through and deleted several junk plugins that GoDaddy installed by default and for whatever reason it works now.

Came here to post about similar problem. Saving permalinks (didn’t change anything, just clicked save) did the trick.
Have only been playing with the plugin for a couple of hours but very slick. Love it.
