Also I checked with flywheel and they confirmed the files/folders have the correct permissions. But in the PHP logs they found the following message:

Inspect right below “recent work” and you can see the image hover effects is there, but nothing shows up. This happens regardless of what image I use. If I try to use it on a completely blank page the same thing happens.
