Normally I take the high road & do not reply to inflammatory comments within a forum but being that all but one of my individual comments that you decided to break down and reply to in an inflammatory manner were dead wrong, it is only fair to others that might be interested in this topic, or considering following your advice, should be aware that although you pretend to come across as a someone very knowledgeable on these issues, you clearly are not.

Wow! There’s so much disinformation here that it’s hard to know where to begin. So let’s try starting with your direct question. While I am not part of the development team for s2Member, I think it’s pretty clear that support for PayPal Advanced won’t be coming.

You were clearly wrong as shown in my original reply with a link a supporting evidence. I concede to the sole comment that you made that seemed accurate; I likely misunderstood the fact that CC info is stored on my site with the fact it can be compromised if the security settings on site aren’t configured properly using PP Pro.. something beyond my capabilities and which is an additional expense to for a highly qualified & competent programmer to establish and maintain/update).

Well, s/he was obviously not so knowledgeable.

As if it weren’t obvious from my initial post, I am far from a “techxpert” & I stand corrected on that point of CC info stored on my site. Being that you were wrong on every other statement you made after that last one makes the PayPal rep clearly more knowledgeable than you on these issues.

“I learned from PayPal that the Pro version required various configurations made to my site such HTTPS, SSL, for security purposes.”
HTTPS and SSL are the same thing!

I never said they weren’t the same thing, I simply added a comma between them. The cost of an SSL certificate which is required for PP Pro is part of my reluctance to use it although I plan to research this issue further. The exclamation mark you added was no more needed the the ‘Ha,ha!” in your previous response.

And you will need it installed, IRRESPECTIVE of the specific plugin you use to take payment, if you don’t redirect customers off-site.

Wrong & wrong again: 1) “Accept credit cards and PayPal directly on your website. Keep customers on your site for the entire checkout process without the full burden of protecting their financial data. In addition to a merchant account and gateway in one, PayPal provides you with a secure checkout template to integrate within your website. Your customers won’t know that we’re processing their payment, making your business look more secure and professional.” Source: PayPal
    2) PayPal Payments Advanced DOES NOT require an SSL certificate. Google Search

In addition to being flat-out wrong on all but one of your comments, you made a claim but provided no supporting evidence that support for PP Advanced from the S2 development team is unlikely, simply your opinion. As I showed in my previous reply, the comments from the S2 team clearly contradict what you said. While you very well might be right, & they have since decided to no longer pursue supporting PP Advanced, I simply want to hear that from THEM.

On that last jab you took at me in your previous reply, very slowly simply try reading my first and last sentence of my original question to the S2 team where I clearly asked if & when support for PP Advanced would be added. The rest of that post was simply info that thought others might be interested in knowing, with one incorrect statement regarding CC info being stored on my site.

@KTS195, Thanks for replying but with all due respect, if you’re not part of the development team, it would be more appropriate for them to answer the question.
Not only have there have been numerous request from S2member users for PayPal Advanced integration, but also numerous responses from the S2 team that although no date has been promised, the development team is aware of the demand & looking into it (Jan 2013: “We have PayPal Advanced in the requests list and we’ll add it when we can, but there’s no date for it..” (additional comments)
As for whatever technical difficulties it might have, PayPal is still the 800 lb gorilla of online payment processing, a well recognized & trusted name to the general public (i.e.- my subscribers) and as such, maybe the extra effort is warranted.
Whether you or the PayPal rep were correct in that configuring my site for HTTPS was not needed for PP Advanced I don’t know. What I am certain of, as many in the S2 forums have mentioned, is that PayPal Pro is too costly for sites with relatively small sales volume whereas PP Advanced is not.
I simply wanted to know from the development team if this PP Advanced integration is currently in the works or not so I can wait or move forward with another option.

@alariel, That worked!! I can’t thank you enough. I had followed your steps in the first post in this thread but that only took away the banner BG image but not the icon images, text or button. All gone now and again, thank you for taking the time to explain this.
BTW, you don’t freelance as programmer by chance? Looking for some to make minor changes & custom coding to my site from time to time.

@dewebmeester.nl, I appreciate your feedback while I also understand that the owners of this plugin are simply trying to monetize it, as they should be able to. I can live with that banner on my admin pages but for the life of me, I can not understand why it also shows up on the settings page that registered users (and soon to be paying subscribers) of my site go in order to select the categories that they wish to receive email notification on.

I can see page of coding with the plugin file that controls the uninstalling of ReadyGraph but I simply do not have access to the link or command to execute the uninstall. I have uninstalled & re-installed the plugin on my local site several times yet still don’t have the uninstall RG option anywhere. No luck removing it with my limited coding/firebugging skills either.

@tanaylakhani- or anyone, I know this thread was marked resolved but I would really appreciate clarification as my recent post regarding this issue has gone unresolved. Remove ReadyGraph Banner

To your last reply in this thread stating “…you can click on Delete ReadyGraph link on readygraph main page. This will delete all the files of readygraph and links.”
What or where is the “ReadyGraph main page”? Under Subscribe2 settings, I have links for “Ready Graph App” and “Go Premium (beside the normal Subscribe2 settings). Blank screens appear within my dashboard when these are clicked.

Just to clarify: There was a “Connect to ReadyGraph” banner that appeared at the top of my plugins page. That banner did have an “X”, which I was able to close. However, the banner I was referring to is the one that appears on the top of all of the Subscribe2 settings pages as well as the page where registered users can select/de-select specific categories.

That banner is blue with an orange exclamation mark & an orange “Connect ReadyGraph” button with the message “Grow your site traffic faster: Activate…..” This is the banner that I need to get rid of as it is unacceptable for my registered users to see this when viewing their user notification settings page.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback from anyone on how to remove this ReadyGraph banner.

I’ve been running this plugin on my local site for weeks and my live site for just over a week with no issues until today. In the past, I have uploaded and removed several custom icons without any issues until today. I upload a new custom icon, same dimensions & format (png) as some of the previous custom icons but this time around the icon & link was immediately broken upon updating.

Tried many time to remove the custom icon, which the plugin did not allow. Disabled & deleted the plugin several times. Searched my plugin folder for any traces of Ultimate SM Icons and the custom icons previous uploads with no results.

Wiped cookies, browser cache, etc… Tried uploading several new icons to the custom icon field but problem persists. Even a fresh install of the plugin will not allow for a second custom icon to be uploaded once I upload the first one (which always immediately crashes the icon & link).

Sounds related to the previous issues in this thread yet all this happened today with the latest version of USMI. Was ready to give a 5-star review until this issue popped up. Plugin is essentially useless for me now as custom icons are necessary for me. Any ideas?

Just to clarify: I just deleted & re-installed Subscribe2 on my local site & noticed a “Connect to ReadyGraph” banner that appeared at the top of my plugins page. That banner did have an “X”, which I was able to close. However, the banner I was referring to in the original post above is the one that appears on the top of all of the Subscribe2 settings pages as well as the page where registered users can select/de-select specific categories.

That banner is blue with an orange exclamation mark & an orange “Connect ReadyGraph” button with the message “Grow your site traffic faster: Activate…..” This is the banner that I need to get rid of as it is unacceptable for my registered users to see this when viewing their user notification settings page.

Anyone figure out how to get rid of this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    (@jaco44)

@mattyrob, Yep, that’s what I read in more than one Google search although most were about a year or more old, some stating that the “X” close button was one the way in the next update rollout.

I run my site, front & backend, on the latest versions of FF, Chrome & IE and I don’t have the “X” button to close the banner on any of them. Would upload an image here if I could. I have the latest version of the plugin & WP as well.

I will say that there is a white “Help” tab that falls down to cover the upper-most right-hand corner of the banner (just to the right of the orange “Connect ReadyGraph” button) that I thought might be covering the X button but that help tab is associated with the Subscribe2 plugin so it can not be dismissed, it stays in place while the help info pops up in a window above when clicked.

With as popular is this plugin is, I was hoping that someone else could chime in if they have/are also experiencing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, no rush on that issue. It would be a nice aesthetic & functional improvement to have the vertical floating icons not so spread out. As you’re working on the next update now & these aren’t really support issues that warrant a new thread, let me throw out my three big improvements to the plugin that will certainly garner a 5-star review plus a donation (at least from me):

    1) Hide/show arrows for the floating icons (with the option to use a cookie to remember each users preference).

2)Different settings for both the color/style and which buttons to show for the floating buttons as well as those that are added to the bottom of each new post.

    3) Related to the improvement above, the ability to select from ANY of the AddThis buttons vs. just the handful current listed. e.g.: I would like to add the following buttons to the bottom of each post: Print, Email, Pocket, & Google Translate. All of those buttons are available under the (+)Share button and are more suited to my individual posts vs. my entire site.

FYI- I have a few similar plugins installed on my local site but run yours on my live site. The ideas above were taken from those other plugins which I’d be glad to share with you to help assist in a little reverse engineering, should you decide to look into any of those features now or in the future.

Quick tip: In reading through the support thread for answers to other questions that I have, I’ve noticed several request from those that don’t want to use the default Specific Feeds that is assigned to the email function. As I already have my own email subscription plugin & page on my site, this is what I did:
Go ahead & check the Email option under settings #1 (which is Specific Feeds) along with the other share icons that you want to use. Choose the icon designs that you want to use under #3 then activate and add the plugin to your site (I’m only using the floating icons). Next, right-click on the email icon on your site and choose “Save Image As” (naming it whatever you want, I did this via FireFox, btw). Then simply create a custom icon by uploading that email icon and enter the path to your email subscription page. You get the same email icon that matches your other icons without any image re-sizing or transparency adjustment needed.

Perfect. Thanks for the quick response!

Where was the setting that dariusneo found to make the icons float right and align vertically? I first configured this plugin on my local site and the icons align vertically but they will only align horizontally on my (nearly identical) live site. This does not appear to be a browser related or screen size issue as the icons start overlapping into my header as I re-size the window smaller.

Will give the plugin a well-deserved 5-star rating once I get this issue as well as the YouTube issue (error msg when entering my correct channel ID which I tripled checked/confirmed…will address that in another thread). Any advice on how to float vertically? Thanks.

The site is http://wp-studio.net/ . If you click “+” on the floating icons, then search “translate”, it will bring up the icon for Google Translate. Once you click that icon, the Google Translate icon will then automatically be placed on the top of the floating share icons, pushing the lowest icon off the screen (must be a cookie setting because when I revisit the page, the Google Translate icon remains on top instead of the default which was Facebook).

I made a couple of screenshots that I can email you if you are unable to replicate this for any reason. Thank you for an excellent plugin. I have given you a 5-star review (well deserved) and plan on upgrading to the pro version once I run the free version for a little while to make sure there are not any plugin conflicts on my site.

I have the same question as above (404 error vs. directing to homepage). My site has been under a relentless attack today, with hits to my wp-login.php page about every minute for as long as I bothered to look back at the logs (many hours). My server resource load is going thru the roof & my hosting co. says that because this plugin redirects from wp-login to the homepage, it’s generating not one, but two hits to my site every time a bot makes another login attempt.

My hosting co. said that a 403 error vs homepage redirect should resolve this issue. Please let us know if this is possible now or in the near future.
