Even very “strange” configurations with multiple custom box plugins activated at the same time didnt get me in troubles. I guess it must be some kind of incompatibility with another plugin.
Can u try to check it again on another fresh WP installation? Maybe its also a PHP or server problem?

However it can be achived without modifying the core files when u use action hooks and javascript code. But next to the security aspect its also no good solution, as its not really “update safe”.
Cant you just disable the whole screen? I dont get the reason for only disabling specific features of the menu screen?

Can you tell me exactly how i can reconstruct this behavior? I guess its because custom fields are different from metaboxes, they have have other IDs. But i will try to fix it and find a workaround …

It is not a replacement for the publish box and it doesnt change the publish status in any way. It just excludes specific pages from being shown in menus and lists.

However, a new version of the plugin with the ability to securly hide admin-panels is currently in progress, and will hopefully be released soon 😉
Thanks for the hint with the “featured image”. As this is a new function in wordpress its not yet in the current version of IM8 Box Hide. I will include it and release an update.

sorry, but i dont know what u mean? IM8 Box Hide has nothing to do with the WordPress link function or any admin menus like dashboard, settings etc.?
It just works for “add page” and “add post”. Please let me know ur exact configuration and which metabox you have troubles to hide … =)

I dont think thats its possible to hide only spoecific elements of a single metabox, as theres no native function within wordpress to do this. The only way would be to remove the element with javascript, which is not very secure and i dont know if this will lead to other problems. However i will try it out and see if this feature is possible…
The thing with custom post types should work, but i guess its not very useful? Normally it should be part of the custom post type coding to enable or disable the metaboxes. Thats why its called “custom”, isnt it? 😉

But i dont understand what u mean with options for custom post types? i guess u mean the same like for additional plugins? so u can disable metaboxes on these custom write pages?
