Thank you for your reply, @bcworkz.

I should have been more clear about my usage of Updraft Plus. I am not a pro customer and I currently use the free version to backup the staging site. I also meant to type Updraft Plus *Migrator* Pro. I included it in my migration plan because they seem to make it easy, including the search and replace (following this: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-can-i-send-site-data-directly-from-one-site-to-another/). It also seems like it can be installed on multiple accounts. However, I am not completely set on using their pro plugin if it’s not the best option. I have removed my post from their forum (thanks for the etiquette tip).

I appreciate all the advice, and seeing it laid out like this is helpful and reassuring. I see now that my situation is less complicated than I thought.

I would also like to make sure that my company’s WordPress account has access to the admin dashboard of the new, migrated site. Ideally I would like to pass it off to them completely, and keep my own account that I’m currently working form. It seems like if I use the Updraft Plus Migrator plugin, I should be able to accomplish this. Sorry to ask such an assumedly simple question in this forum. My lack of understanding about wordpress.org accounts has me puzzled.

    Thank you.

Here are screenshots showing the contents of the root directory, with the last shot showing my subdirectory “test-site.”

    Thank you, @gappiah.
