This might have fixed the mac issue too.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] using third party email serverI don’t know if this will help, but one of the sites I work on uses a WordPress plugin called WP-Mail-SMTP to configure mail settings.
Give it a search, maybe it’ll help.
PostmanSMTP is another one.
