What you are describing is called “being responsive”. This theme, just like the majority of modern themes, are adjusting to whatever screen size they are viewed on.
This theme displays the slideshow and the featured image at 100% height of the screen. To accommodate this, the image is cropped via CSS, so that the center stays visible at all times, while the sides are cropped out depending on the screen size.
This is an essential part of the theme, which is why there is no built-in control to disable it.

The theme does not include such detailed color customization options.
You would have to accomplish that with some custom CSS code.
The CSS code depends on what kind of links you want to customize and where.
You can use Google Chrome’s “Inspect Element” tool to find the appropriate CSS rules.Best regards,

You would have to edit the theme’s .php files, which is usually a bad idea.
Changes to the theme’s files will be overwritten during future theme updates. So you would either have to re-apply your changes after every update, or simply stop updating the theme (which is also a bad idea).Podcast works with the “post” post type.
If your plugin of choice creates a custom post type for some reason, then you would have to consult the documentation for the plugin and their support resources. This issue has probably been addressed before by other users of other themes too.This is not a bug in the theme.

You are correct. This theme requires some major updates to make it look better on mobile devices.

I’m looking at multiple other websites and I cannot replicate the issue.
The only difference with your website is that you are using Jetpack to serve images.
Try disabling that module in Jetpack, it will probably fix the issue.Best regards,

You have not provided a link to your website, so it is difficult to guess what you have and what is wrong.
The pages that you linked to a simple pages with a featured image added to them.
Then do what is shown in the video at the 07:07 mark.
