Did you put the pages widget in the sidebar that will let someone link to it?
I have found that the default setting is for the blog posts to go on the front page – if you don’t want that, you have to change it.

I don’t know if this is related or not, but I’m having a similar problem.
I write a new post (or someone makes a comment) and it doesn’t automatically show up. They (I) have to hit the refresh button all the time. People think that their comment didn’t go through.
How do I fix this – to tell their browsers that they need to refresh?
