It looks to me like a javascript issue as the browser hangs rather than slow response time. For me it effects only the edit pages and not the entire admin panel.
Hoping for a quick fix.

i added a select box to the top to change the taxonomy.

i simply replaced taxonomy = ‘category’ with taxonomy = ‘mycustomtax’ and it works perfectly.
