You dont have to answer my inquiries above, just posted them in a new post that also contains important feedback.
THanxUPDATE
Okay, It seems I managed to solve it.
I am using the plugin “Multisite Plugin Manager” .. with which I activate the plugins I install on my network (instead of doing so via the native plugins manager). I had to “ACTIVATE ALL” (for all blogs) the Site Wide Tags plugin, and only after that, and after hitting the “populate” button in the Sitewide Tags plugin, that the posts now appear in the main blog and the tags blog.
But one thing.. it seems that it does indeed duplicate the posts, but shouldn’t it simply link them ??Okay, to test it, I just created a new post in the very same sub blog “tags” that is supposed to contain the sitewide tags.. but nothing appeared, nor in the main blog neither in that tags blog itself (except from the post itself of course)..
Hi Ron. Do I understand that the plugin will only duplicate NEW posts and ignore old, already existing ones?
If Yes, isnt this pointless? Or else, how can I make the plugin duplicate into the new tags blog, the posts that are already posted in the sub-blogs?
Also, in the options screen of the plugin, there is the Enabled tickbox in the very beginning. Under it, there is a field for putting the custom, dedicated sub blog for tags.. If I choose the option below, which says ” Post to main blog”.. Do I have to leave the field blank or what ?? The settings interface do lack lots of explanatory information.
Now I am actually still dont fully understand what the plugin does. Does it pull the tags and display them on the main blog, and link each tag to the original posts in the sub blogs.. or actually duplicate all posts in the sub blogs to the main blog and duplicate their tags?
In other words, does the plugin simply index the posts, or copy them to the main blog?? If it does COPY them, isnt this pointless too and only like burden on the server resources ??Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpHi esmi Thank you.
I still dont know what causes it.
1- I replaced the current theme files with the original theme templates: the php templates, CSS files and JS files (including the nav.js).
2- I validated and fixed the few errors.
3- I removed 3 pages from the nav (to see perhaps having many of them is what causes the problem). All that, did not fix the problem !
I removed the polldaddy’s widget, and the problem is gone !! What could this be ???

I am still having the error message “#2005 – Unknown MySQL server host ‘WP_HOST’ (1) ” , although I did change WP_HOST to localhost. What could it be ?

In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpThank you alchymyth. Yes, as I said before, the scroll only appears when the Polldaddy widget is active, and it is a Java as you can see.
I am not sure which “other site” you mean. I am currently concerned about http://alkotab.net, where polldaddy is installed and its widget seems to be causing the issue. But I said that I emailed Polldaddy support and they reviewed my theme files and found nothing that counterfeits with their poll.
I contacted the theme’s author but never got a response. It is an old theme it seems, perhaps no longer supported.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpDear esmi, I really appreciate the time and effort you are investing to help me.
I am actually using Firebug and the other famous developers toolbar for firefox, but still could not know where it is !
In the original theme the issue is not present. But I just made sure the styling properties of the .nav are identical to the original CSS.. the only things I changed are the float properties (left to right) since it is an Arabic RTL blog.
I doubt it is the float, since the issue did not appear from the beginning but appeared suddenly, and I am unable to tell why !Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpWhat’s about the nav bar? Could you please figure out?
And if it’s not the Polldaddy widget, why is the scroll gone when I remove the widget?
I’d be glad if you could provide any additional help esmi.. I really tried hard to detect the cause of this issue and could not.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpThanx again esmi. The site I am currently concerned about and trying to resolve its problem is http://alkotab.net.
Thank you if you could take a look at it.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: sudden long horizontal scrollbar, overflow: hidden; no helpThank you Esmi. I agree with you, but what I meant is that when the site looks good in the browsers, what need is there for validating?
ANyway I have validated both the CSS and the HTML codes, and fixed minor things that were there. Yet the problem is still there !!I should mention that the widget causing it is the Polldaddy poll in the right sidebar. When I remove it, the scroll is gone. I emailed Polldaddy support and they reviews my theme files and found nothing that counterfeits with their poll !
Thank you Esmi. I found there was a “vti_cnf” folder inside the theme’s folder which contained the same files of the theme. I deleted that, and now everything seems to be fine. But I have no idea why it happened all of a sudden.. I dont think my host (Hostmonster) suddenly activated FrontPage extensions all of a sudden.. what is it anwyway?
BTW, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me whats causing this horizontal scroll here:
