I guess I should add it also to the FAQ section since it might be a confusion. I think I will also add a small text above (or below) the link section so people using it will also know how it works.
It might be a fun feature to add, but I can’t track where people are sharing them and then check on them. As I said, I will see to implement the Like/Follow feature in a near future.
I am really glad you like it and think of it like that Phil D. Really appreciate it!
If you ever have any new ideas, you can submit them to http://www.wpsimplegiveaways.com/ideas/
You’re welcome! 🙂
I am working on improving the plugin as much as possible, so feedback like this is much appreciated 🙂
Hi @etalesyn,
the basic workflow is:
1. You have a giveaway, your goal is to give something back to your audience and grow your email list in return
2. A visitor subscribes to your giveaway
3. In order to have higher chance of winning, he/she must get you more subscribers
4. He/She can do that by sharing links so people can subscribe to it.Be it a social media or just pasting the link (which is there) in an email to their own followers does nothing if that link does not get you new subscribers. That is how the entry point works because it is referring other people to your giveaway.
A user could share the link to a social media (in order to get a free entry point) and after that delete it. Facebook or any other social media won’t notify your giveaway that a user has removed that link.
Another issue that can happen is that a user uses a different email to subscribe and a different for social media which again can be difficult or even impossible to track.
I don’t have anything to correct here since it is working as expected 🙂
But I do have the plan to allow Facebook Like or Twitter Follow as another option. If I succeed in providing this, I might work on the complex system as a new option. That might happen in a near future but not so soon as I have other features to implement.
Thank you for considering using this plugin 🙂
Hi etaleysn,
can you confirm that you have subscribed with another email through the shared link?
The entries will get updated only if someone else subscribes from the shared link. Otherwise anyone could just click on each link mumtiple times to cet more entries.
Not 100% sure, but probably somewhere in the first 2 weeks of December.
Hi @eddy123,
if they enter the same email, they will get an error message that the provided email is already in use, as if it was entered by someone else.
When they subscribe to the giveaway, a cookie is saved on the current browser. When they visit the giveaway page, they will see the status page.
But if they delete the cookie, the only way to see the status page is by clicking on that link.
If they’ve lost it, they won’t be able to see it (if the cookie is deleted).
I might add an option “Resend the Link” or similar so they get the link on the email in a future release.
Hi eddy123,
the winner is always chosen based on the entry points. The one who has the most entries will win the giveaway. If there are two or more with the same number of entries, then they will be randomly selected.
The plugin does not yet lock the sign-ups using IP. This is a plan to implement as an option in a future release.
If a user clears the cache (cookie) and enter the same email, it will notify them that the email is already in use. That way we are locking the entry screen so that others may not get the screen and check the status by entering a random email. To get to the entry screen, they will need to click on the REF link which they received inside the email.
Hi,
to export the list of people you need to go to each giveaway edit screen. Then above the box with “Publish/Update” button, you will see a button “Export CSV”.
You can check all the giveaways options here: https://practicalwp.teachable.com/p/grow-your-e-mail-list-with-simple-giveaways or on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnl69LeRGac&list=PLObNInvLiEdrIMA6y8ifG7a4ImG0kXjS6
At the time of writing this, the last video is showing you how to use the MailChimp integration on the PRO version.
I’ll have to see how the WhatsApp or Telegram is working to see how to add that.
Currently, I am working on a new way to sync old subscribers to autoresponders and the next integration will be Aweber.
For additional share points such as you have shown in the image, I will need to see how to have that and check it if it was done. When I tested some of the on KingSumo Giveaway, they were actual dummy data. Each refresh would revert back to entries and I don’t want that. I want to be sure that for some of those actions such as liking a Facebook page, the user actually liked the page and not just clicked on the link.
I think we solved that from the email. It had to do with targeting on Facebook Ads.
@joylific was able to get over 800 subscribers if I am correct 😉
Hi @almandareo, I don’t see any screenshots.
Would you mind giving me access to your site? Admin and FTP would be great if possible so I can check it out.
You can send me those details at i.benic[at]hotmail.com or through my contact form on https://www.ibenic.com/contact/
Hi, you can change it under Giveaways > Settings. Under the first “General” tab, you have both the email subject and message which you can change to your preferences.
Hi, I never had MyCred in mind to integrate.
How would that be used? When a logged in user subscribes, they will receive creds for it? With each referred subscriber, more creds will be given to the user?
Hi,
the ahortcode is there just for that since you can enter as much info you want on a page or post.
The content you enter on a giveaway will be displayed on the giveaway page.
Just a quick thought, could you go to Settings > Permalink and click save?
