    Sayontan, I’m getting somewhere with this now.

    The CSS to fix the image height problem is:

    .photonic-slideshow-side-white li img {
    max-height: 633px;
    }

    The image title still doesn’t display. The gallery where it should show is set to default and the default I’ve made “Cover the lower portion always”, but it doesn’t show. Where does the photo title text come from? Perhaps I’ve not got it in the right place, it is now in the description of each photo in the Google Photos album.

    Thank you for your help.

    Are you using the Classic Editor or Gutenberg?

    I’m using Gutenberg. I think recreating the gallery is an acceptable solution given how easy you’ve made it to create a gallery once image sourcing is setup.

    Add this to your Custom Styles and see if it makes a difference:
    .photonic-stream img { height: auto; }

    It didn’t seem to make a difference. Hopefully, I’ll hear back from MyThemeShop tomorrow. This is one of the best themes I’ve found in a long time and it’s designed for the niche my site is in, so I don’t want to change it if I can help it.

    Can you try setting this explicitly on the slideshow instead of using the default?

    I’ve tried that, this is where it doesn’t seem to save, so incorrect shortcode continues to be shown.

    Also you replied whilst I made an edit to my comment – I’ll remove the change if I can, I added the following suggestion which I think could be a helpful option in if this conflicting code can’t be resolved….

    I recreated one gallery, and checked the generated shortcode has the right settings and it does, so I wonder if the conflicting code from the theme is hiding the title (when it does work) by not showing the bottom of the image. I would like to suggest one solution is the option of having the title at the top of the image instead of at the bottom.

    Thank you for your help Sayontan. Customising the side arrows worked perfectly, and I’ve contacted the theme developer to find a solution to the conflicting code.

    Regarding the image title, I don’t know what else I can do. I’m not using a lightbox and I make the title setting to the defaults or to “Cover the lower portion always” wherever I find the option.

    In Google Photos settings, I select “Always use the photo title, even if blank”.
    On the Galleries themselves, I make sure it’s all default setting everywhere. The title should be “Cover the lower portion always” but no matter how often I save it, it just remains stuck on “Using a Javascript tooltip”. I have flushed the server cache in case that is stopping or delaying it from changing.

    Going through the process of setting up the gallery, I notice that immediately after saving it, the shortcode is shown and it shows that it never changed anything. I had a similar problem with another gallery and the only solution I found was to recreate the entire gallery, I may now recreate all my galleries.

    The people expected to view my site (are pensioners) often haven’t a clue what a tooltip is or how to display it.

    Thanks for your help.

    I kind of get the impression that the website or server is telling me to take a break now because it is just refusing to save at least one of the settings I’m trying to change.

    I know exactly which I setting it is, I change it and save, reload the page… no change. Back to the relevant settings page, reload it… it still hasn’t changed. It drives me crazy! The setting in question is how to display the image title, I’ve reviewed the option in the gallery itself and in the default settings.

    For around six hours I’ve been working on this one part of this one page!

    Hello, I think I had the same problem. Here’s the conversation: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/help-disable-title-on-post-category-pages/

    This is the solution I was given:

    Do you want to remove the title only for this category or for all catego=ries? Because you can use a code like this: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/437-disable-the-page-title
    Just replace “is_singular( ‘post’)” by “is_category()”.

    Hello, I just realised you had replied, thank you. I should already be getting email notifications. I hope the following is helpful feedback, and that perhaps you can help resolve the problems that have arisen.

    I changed the header style to “minimum” as suggested and have been having another go at getting single posts and blog posts to work the way I want. I am very happy to pay for premium features if I can get these features working but I am finding it extremely frustrating now. I will be going through your tutorials more.

    Is the Elementor plugin part of OceanWP? I have no idea, but I have to assume it is. In the Elementor Global Settings, I see “Stretched Section Fit To” and it suggests I can change it though it’s not immediately clear how to do that and when I do change it, I can’t save or update the change, I later found it saves automatically.

    In Customize > Blog > Single Entry, a section titled “Full Width Content” has a value of “700”… Miles? Centimetres? Percent? Pixels? The content was initially stretching edge-to-edge of the screen and it’s over 1400px, briefly I somehow changed the content width but now the content is stuck at 460px (maybe that’s 500px with a border of 20px) and nothing I do changes it.

    For a while the text from the post I’m working on vanished, I don’t know how or where to, but I was able to enter it again. Another option I’ve lost is to do with a second menu which has appeared above the header, I thought it was the “Top Bar” but that isn’t enabled and it doesn’t show in the preview.

    I’m not sure it’s even worth having the Elementor plugin, not because it’s bad, but because there are too many options. Forget where one rarely changed setting is and you can spend hours looking for it again.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Ok here’s a temporary link: http://paul.mayman.co.uk/XU8Ntx34m8TuR7ju3HH

    I know it goes to a 404 page. Go to photos or videos then view a single post. You’ll see on single posts the title is right up against the header and I would like to put some space above it.

    Thank you.

    Thank you, that worked well. I’ve now removed the single post titles, they already have a title so it was just repeating. Fortunately, I had created a child theme last night.

    You can view the site here on this temporary link:
    paul.mayman.co.uk/XU8Ntx34m8TuR7ju3HH

    It will lead to a 404 error, but you can still view the site, so go to the photos page, how do I remove or hide the title section from the photos or videos page?

    Thread Starter Ian

    (@ianonline)

    If possible, I’d like to keep the site hidden for now as it’s not a live site and there is not an actual link anyway, it’s like example.com/category/categoryname

    I think what I’m looking for is a specific setting that affects all blog post entries, but not single posts.

    Thank you.

    I may have the same problem and I know how to create dropdown menus, so I thought I’ll add this here as it appears relevant. While the WP Forge theme displays menu items, it forces all menus to be dropped down all the time and pushes along later menu items. Do you know why?!

    Here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/LIm1tHP.png

    I also have been unable to change the Site Title colour even though I know where the setting is. Other changes are saved, but it appears nothing I change in the “Headers & Background Colors” section are saved.

    Thank you for your help.
