It would be more efficient to work with a version control system, preferably git, if you ask me, so maybe github. Not only for the published version, but also for the development, support branches. It gives the possibility to contribute and makes it easier to see the code changes.

I find it problematic to install random code send via email, you never know the intentions. I personally have the ability to check for code changes, but most people don’t. By the way this is nothing personal against you.

I cannot give you admin access to a site with sensitive data on it.

And nobody should to be honest.

My development environment is local, so that’s not a possibility.

Last but not least you should be able to debug your plugin without asking for access anyway.
