Thank you.

Thank you. I updated wp-config.php to enable “direct” access. I still had to use a much larger vm than normal to avoid the timeout, but in the end it all worked.
Thanks again for taking the time to help. I have rated the plugin 5 stars.

I am using a self-hosted site: AWS running my own ubuntu and wordpress (the bitnami AMI, actually). So I don’t understand why the plug-in is not able to update the directory nor why the 2000ms timeout is being enforced.
Thanks for your insight.

I have the same issue. The plug-in worked fine a few months ago and I haven’t used it again until today. Same error message (though only in English). I’m stuck at this point and would appreciate some thoughts on the problem.
While trying to solve this issue, I’ve retried a few time and occasionally also get a timeout error. I think this is completely unrelated to the error above, and the timeout goes away when I allocate some more virtual CPU to the server. Can the timeout value of 2000 milliseconds be increased? Here’s the timeout error:
An error occured: Cannot download file at http://realfavicongenerator.net/files/99f302d99a9998b3a87e40948ad4b978f2f5aaa9/favicons.zip: Operation timed out after 2000 milliseconds with 361662 out of 1163499 bytes received
