In reply to: Image limit on FTP backup?Yes, but I’ve just noticed something really weird. We’ve been replacing the missing images this morning so I’ve just gone to back up specifically those images we’ve replaced – and they’re not in the uploads folder! Some are but most aren’t.
The replaced images are showing on the website and their location shows as ../wp-content/uploads/ but FTP’ing over in Filezilla, they’re just not there!
I’ve just gone to the File Manager in cPanel and I can see all the new images – they’re there! But Filezilla can only see 4 out of about 40 images, no matter how much I refresh. No wonder it didn’t copy them over! Any suggestions?

In reply to: Image limit on FTP backup? Thanks for the reply. I have contacted my host but it seems strange that there would be a download limit. The rest of the files have transferred correctly but I’m now missing several hundred images – and they’re missing from every recent backup even though they were all present and correct on the server 12 hours ago before I carried out the restore operation.

In reply to: [Relia] Post author shows on blogroll even when set to hideThanks! That hides the date as well though. Is it possible to just hide the author and keep the date?
Now the fields are there but only posts are shown in the dropdown, not pages. Perhaps they were hidden until I had made a post? I wanted both buttons to link to internal pages so I have just put the full URL of the pages in the External URL field.

In reply to: Need help with 301 redirects to remove postname from permalinkI can’t edit my post above. I just wanted to confirm that the preferred format for the new permalinks is simply /%post_id%
If it’s much easier to simply revert to the default permalink structure, that would be acceptable too, but domain.com/%post_id% is preferred. This website gets about 5,000 unique hits per day so successfully redirecting all links is paramount.

In reply to: [Brood] A couple of bugsSorry, another thing I forgot to mention. The header image only shows on desktop and tablet, not on mobile. How can I display it on mobile too? Apologies if this has already been fixed. I will update to the latest version as soon as I know how to take care of the blank spaces described above.

In reply to: [Brood] The picture in the newsI hope it’s ok for me to reply. On the post edit page, look for “Set Featured Image” and upload your image there. Then it will show on the news page.
Wow, such a simple solution!!! Thank you so much for your help π
That’s interesting! With just “ad3” instead of the ad code, the text “ad3” is actually showing, but squashed at the side of the paragraph instead of embedded as I would expect it to be. I don’t seem to be able to attach the export file. Is it any good to just paste the contents here?
Edit: Switching the ad code back in, in Firebug the div disappears, while Chrome Inspector shows the div as 0x0.

In reply to: Changed permalink structure, now dashboard links don't workI still have the same problem. To clarify the issue I am having, yes, I can sign in on http://parsleymonster.com/wp-admin/index.php (even though I signed in on http://parsleymonster.com/wp-admin before) and it takes me stright to the dashboard. But if I go to “view site” or any of the front pages, I cannot get back to the dashboard the usual way since the dashboard link gives the “oops, page not found” error. This is not a cache issue, I get the same result on all my devices and anyone who signs in with the test admin account I posted above will encounter the same problem.
I need to implement the change of permalinks structure and permanent redirect on a very large, very busy site, but I won’t even attempt it until I have resolved this issue on my test site.
Thank you for any help!

In reply to: Changed permalink structure, now dashboard links don't workYes, I’ve even used a completely new browser… ok, I’ve managed to get in by typing /wp-admin/index.php rather than just /wp-admin as I usually do. Now I can see my dashboard. BUT from the front posts page, using the dashboard icon or its Dashboard sub-item to toggle back to the dashboard still gives me the 404. Please can you try the toggling and see what happens for you??
