Thank you for your quick reply and for explaining the reason for this behaviour.
After posting the above, I found the pinned “Common Issues” post and made the new pages. The only thing I did differently from what you suggested above is that I used [mailpoet_manage_subscription] rather than [mailpoet_page] on the Manage Subscription page.
Please let me know if this is OK, or if it would be better to change it to [mailpoet_page].
