I’m still encountering this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Thanks

I mentioned the plug-in as a way to describe what I’ve tried and the ending result. I wasn’t able to find a way to do it without a plug-in but I was hoping maybe someone could point me in that direction if what I’m trying to do is possible without a plug-in. I found another support thread in which someone walked another person through putting something similar in the footer. It seemed related to what I’m trying but I wasn’t able to translate the steps to make it work for me.

I’ve looked at other plug-ins and the steps needed to accomplish this are not described in enough detail for a newbie to follow. I’ve spent a lot of hours trying to figure this out and all the roads I’ve found have been dead ends…except for that one support thread. This seems like it should be a very easy thing to do (at least from my newbie perspective). I was hoping it was something someone more experienced could walk me through.

Ok, I changed the permalinks and that seems to be fine.

Yes, my old site is still up. The migration didn’t go as I expected. Many of my photos were not transferred. So, I’m going back through all my posts (on my new site) to make sure everything is okay and uploading photos. Luckily, it’s not a big site but it’s still annoying. Once that’s done, I can delete my old site.

So, for the social media links that are out there pointing to my old site, there’s no way to redirect them to those same posts on the new site? I looked into a few plug-ins but they need to be installed on the old site in order to work…which isn’t possible on wp.com.

    Thanks for the help

Thank you for the reply. I have my own domain (homeschoolgardens.com) through GoDaddy which directed to homeschoolgardens.wordpress.com. I now have the name servers directed to Blue Host.
