So there is really no native option in this theme to display the latest posts with the featured image of the post?
If so, is there any suggested solution to this “problem”?

no, I do not mean the plugin but the Theme.
When I’ve updated my WordPress version to 5.3 first time, where Twenty Twenty was introduced in a demo, they showed the recent blogposts being displayed with the title, image, and an excerpt. In the real Twenty-Twenty theme, I do not have the option to display the latest posts with an image though. I wonder if there is a way to do so especially how the WordPress team did.
