In reply to: [Link Library] Link Library friendly widget without categoriesDear Moderator,
I’m not creating duplicate posts of anything. I responded to this post, another support thread with a completely different response, and I tried to create 2 brand new threads for help on 2 separate issues. The only item I see on the site is this one. I don’t know what is going on, but it is NOT me and I am most definitely NOT posting duplicates.

In reply to: [Link Library] Link Library friendly widget without categoriesI needed to get moving on this website so I have installed the PHP Code Widget (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/php-code-widget/) and gotten the links to show in the footer the way I want them.
If you have a better suggestion, please let me know.

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] RSS Preview links brokenI must have forgotten to check that follow-up post notification and didn’t realize you had answered!
Thank you very much. I’ve already downloaded and installed version 5.1.
Well I figured it out. It was the compatibility mode. Somehow that had gotten turned on – probably by visiting a web site with issues – since I never use the stupid thing. With compatibility mode running, the screen options didn’t work, but with it turned off they load just fine. Stupid bloody IE! And let me tell you I’m not happy at all because it was the very LAST thing I did and only because my partner mentioned that testing that on her pc running win xp (I’m on win7) and it not working there, but working for her otherwise. I went through deactivating every single plugin and changing my theme to 2011 only for it to be a stupid button in IE.
I thank you for your time and attention. Maybe this will help another user one day!
I am running WordPress 3.2.1. The Screen Options buttons work on all other dashboard sections and it works on your test blog. Any ideas?
Dear Zack,
Thanks for looking into the problem. I’m sorry that you were unable to recreate it on your end. I checked every single page of my WP Dashboard and all are displaying as I remember them before I installed your plugin. Unfortunately, there isn’t an error icon displayed either. And, to make troubleshooting even harder, I am using the exact same vesion of IE 8 you mentioned testing (8.0.7600.16385). Perhaps it is a conflict with one of my other plugins?
I am using:
AddToAny: Share/Bookmark/Email Buttons – Version .9.9.9.4
Akismet – Version 2.5.3
All in One SEO Pack – Version 1.6.13.3
FT Signature Manager – Version 1.3
JPF Register – Version 1.0
leenk.me – Version 1.3.6.1
Maintenance Mode – Version 5.4
SABRE – Version 1.2.0
Subscribe2 – Version 6.4
WP-o-Matic – Version 1.0RC4-6Any known conflicts with what I’ve got?

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] Slow load after upgrading to 4.1.8I’m sorry, I never got to do the upgrade as planned as I got a new client that shook up my schedule! The best laid plans of web designers and all that, but I won’t complain because it’s a new client!
I was able to upgrade tonight and the hang problem is completely GONE! I checked it in IE, Avant, and Firefox and the Link Library pages are now loading as expected.
Thank you for the awesome work!
Unfortunately, I notice that the rss links are not working, but I’m going to mark this item as resolved and start a new post on that item.

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] Slow load after upgrading to 4.1.8Your php.ini update nailed the thumbnail problem and the site now has it’s thumbnails back. Thank you.
So, with you stumped on the slow page load, where does that leave us?

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] Slow load after upgrading to 4.1.8I did as instructed, created the link-library-images directory, gave it 777 permissions, and generated the thumbnails. When I did that, I received a bunch of errors (guessing one for each link on the site) that said:
Warning: file_get_contents(http://open.thumbshots.org/image.aspx?url=https://taxpackagesupport.com/(S(2wso4w45g2whrbq1ro2f5zrf))/k1SupportHome.aspx) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/content/t/k/t/tktcpa/html/wp-content/plugins/link-library/link-library.php on line 360
Line 360 of my link-library.php file is “$imagedata = file_get_contents($genthumburl);” The link-library-images directory now has files in it but they are all 0kb. I unchecked the “Use Thumbshots.org for dynamic link images” box and loaded up the site and now there are no thumbshots at all (which I expected since the files are 0kb) but there is still a delay.
I left the site like this so that you can see it – http://www.tktcpa.com/links/. Debug mode is still on.

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] Slow load after upgrading to 4.1.8I totally agree that it doesn’t make sense, but we are talking about IE here so all bets are off in my experience. I have no explanation for what I am seeing. All I can say is that I have tested it with IE8 and Avant in two different locations, connecting to the net via two different ISPs (actually from two different states!) and am still seeing the lag. Those were machines running Windows 7. To be thorough, I loaded the site up on a Win XP machine and tested it in IE7 and Avant on there and am seeing the lag there as well. Do you see it at all in IE or another browser?

In reply to: [Link Library] [Plugin: Link Library] Slow load after upgrading to 4.1.8Thanks for taking a look at this. Just tried it myself with firefox and I agree the page loads perfectly. Unfortunately, in IE8 and Avant I’m still getting the lag I mentioned.
