Similarly, I am runnning 3.8.1 and WP updates claims it is the latest version in spite of the dashboard advice to upgrade to release of 4.7.3
Is there a way to fix the updates mechanism?

Thank you, CharlieLivingstone for the reply and the other helpful comments. I want to replace the entire banner with an image, that is, a photograph with the title of the business included in the image. The banner appears to be made up of two parts and I’d like to replace both with just one.
