The issue has not been resolved. Sorry. The issue is still happening for me.
I went ahead and temporarily switched to a different theme. When I did this, I was able to see all product images on the shop page with no issues.
So what does this mean? How do I fix this? It an internal issue with Porto Theme?

I have not tried switching themes. If I do that, will I lose any editing or anything that I have done to the site? If I do that and switch back, everything will be the way it was?
What is a Dropin Plugin? Which ones are those so that I can deactivate them?
