  • Hi Pim,

Thank you for your quick response!

I don’t have access to the dashboard so I can’t even get to step 1 of the above mentioned steps; that’s why I want to restore the local host site to what it was before ever using the all-in-one-wp-migration.

Can you please help me do that so I can have access again (dashboard and local host site before the all in one plug-in)? I know the data is there but don’t know what to do or how to do it when it comes to that kind of thing. At this point, I just want access again.

Do I need to do something in MAMP, pHp etc?

…also, let me know if you think I should just trash everything and start over. I’m beginning to realize it would take less time to start over but really want to understand what is going on so I don’t make the same mistake.

Moving local host to live is by far the most complicating and frustrating step in using wordpress for someone who’s using wordpress for the first time.

    Hi!

I used the All-in-one-wpmigration to move my from local host to live. I got the “restoring database” message for a long time so I tried to stop the migration by aborting. Now I can’t access my dashboard on my localhost! All I get is the below with no media, content, theme or any kind or formatting:

    ********************
    Search for:
    Close
    clydes bonnie

the kind of buzz you just can’t kill

    about

    …etc.
    **************

When I woke up this morning, the media was there but when I attempted to access the dashboard, everything reverted back so that I could access ANYTHING. Any way or restoring back??

I still have the .wpress file that was exported via All-in-one-wp migration. Can I somehow restore using the .wpress file?

    I’m using MAMP…fyi.

    Please help!!

    I meant MAMP control panel.

I need to know if I need to re-install MAMP.

Where is the WAMP control panel?
