We just downgraded to V 2.6.1 as well and it’s back (that is, it’s working again)!
Still, it would be nice to access some of the updated features of V 2.6.2. We too would be willing to help debug.

I, too, am a high school newspaper adviser and this plugin has been wonderful for us. While we have just 1200+ user names, as of V2.6.2 we can no longer access or change authors. It’s clearly a problem with the upgrade because: a) it was working beautifully until we upgraded, and b) we deactivated ALL of the other plugins except this one and the problem still persists. HELP! We LOVE this plugin!
