I have the same problem as the OP. In the image manager all imnages are not correct anymore

Every image before 2009 is not shown anymore, the files are stil there.
The file url is completely wrong now

It should have been
http://weblog.hansotten.com/wp-content/2008/12/emulilith.jpg

Where does this added atring part come from?

What have permalinks to do with image url’s? Resetting how?

WordPress itself is great, but the image manager is a piece of junk since a year now. Every upgrade causes all kind of problems with images not shwoing, disappearing, not being able to upload.

I see the same problem with IE6 in WordPress 2.5. After applying the IE fix uploading works fine, but then the next bug pops up

While inserting an image from the Media Library by clicking Show (not a very intuitive way of adding images) in IE a fullsize image is shown overlaying the input boxes for size etc,

Firefox works fine, only a small thumbnail is shown and all fields are easy accessible. So it is an IE problem, showing the whole image and overwriting the buttons and input boxes fields.
