Go to Settings » then go to permalinks, and click on Save Changes button.
And then update the permalink settings.
By doing this, the setting of your site permalinks will be updated and will refresh the rewriting rules. In most of the cases this method solves the 404 error of WordPress sites.
But, if it will not apply, then you should need to manually update the .htaccess file.
