Same here – Publicize has stopped automatic posting to my connected Social Media sites. All had been working 100% with versions below – did not upgrade/modify anything (to my knowledge).

My HTTPS setup was performed by my hosting company. No plugin or service to manage certificate.
URL settings under Settings > General in your dashboard:

Please see some wp_options table entries (phpmysql screenshots) that reference jetpack, *after* I delete the plugin.
Removing the plugin does not remove these database rows.
Could some of these persistent entries be causing an issue, upon re-intsall?

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 1000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
Have deleted, and re-installed new Jetpack plugin (v4.3) – twice
Have disabled other plugins.
Have checked .htacess to confirm nothing being blocked.
After deleting Jetpack, I notice still hundreds of references to Jetpack in my SQL tables (wp_options)… anything I should manually delete/edit, to try to get this to be a clean new install of the plugin. I can send you a PHPmyAdmin screenshot of this old Jetpack data.
Jetpack was working in the past on this WP site, until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect. I did move my WP install, and add SSL, without ever disconnecting Jetpack. All continued to work fine, until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect.
I do not see any error on my host server logs.
I have gone through all the Jetpack trouble shooting steps (3 times) — and FAQ’s here

My WP / PHP environment appears OK. On Linux shared hosting, with Jetpack working OK on other accounts with this hosting company (hostgator).
Everything was OK on this WP install (Jetpack Publicize, and more…) until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect.

thanks for reply… I solved the 1st problem using a tricky method. (Amazing what you can accomplish when you are actually forced to think about it for a while (while out jogging…)) — this very simple work-around worked for me, for hiding my criteria ROLE field:

AFTER: </p>Still working on changing my button text, I often use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/ — but not working for me on this one…will keep trying.
All good in QLD… although I spend most my time in the USA now developing software…
