  • Actually, I just solve the problem, which, it turns out, was with the theme, not WordPress. But thanks anyway, Boober.

Oops! I meant, I’m using VK Labs’ Ad Flex Blog theme.

    Thanks, Jeremy,

In what file would I find “the_excerpt”? I did not find it in header.php. For what it’s worth, I’ve since learned something else: If I limit my post to a single sentence, everything is fine. Sometimes, I can add a second sentence. But if I have more than two sentences and after the last sentence, put the phrase “[Read the full article]” and make it a link to an article on another Web site, not only do I get “[…]” instead of the full phrase underlined, on the home page, but sometimes the entry, on the home page, ends is cut off in mid-sentence. But on the separate post page, everything is fine. Could the periods at the ends of sentences be causing the problem?

I am using the VK Labs Ad-Sense theme.

    Thanks for your help.

    Gene

I don’t know if my problem is identical. When I write a post and include an http link, it “creates” fine, with the text turning blue and an underline appearing. Then I click “Save” or “Publish” and the underline remains, but the text turns “plain” and when the post appears on the homepage, instead of a working link, I get “[…].” On the other hand, when I navigate to the “post-page,” the link does appear and does work.

I tried the .htaccess fix above and it didn’t solve the problem.
