I had to ask my host to update the php. I was running an old version. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I’ll work on that.. Just seems strange that the footer displays properly on all pages except categories.
Never mind, I tried some from a different site and they do work so it must be a compatibility issue of those particular themes with the newest version of wp.
