Hi Joel. Thanks for the heads up and sorry for the trouble. A fix has been implemented and submitted to the repository as v1.3.1. Pending approval by the WP team, it should be pushed to sites within the next 24 hours.
This has been implemented as of v1.3.0. Thanks again for the heads up!
Greetings and thanks for bringing this to my attention. It would appear that those are default controls on the built-in HTML5 audio player in Chrome and other Chromium browsers. Never noticed it before, but it is luckily something that can be easily removed from the player code. Unfortunately, users could still right-click on the audio player and “Save Audio As” to save the file, so a more robust workaround is to implement a custom audio player interface entirely. That’s been on my roadmap for a bit, but I’ll make it a top priority now. Should hopefully be resolved in a new update this week. 👍
