  • If it helps I just loaded your page for the first time and it loaded without any problems. If you’re using chrome hit ‘F12’ then right click on the reload icon and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”.

Also, if you’ve created a child from the original chaplin theme make sure to increase/change the version number in you child’s style.css header. Some browsers will take this as a prompt to skip the cache and reload.

    Something to try. Good luck.

Great, we’re back! 2.1.3 is working for me.

    Many thanks, and great work!

Hey, no worries, thanks for being so responsive! I’m working locally anyway so no bother for me. I’m locked out of WP because of the error but once the theme on wordpress.org is updated to 2.1.3 I’ll update and test.

    Still no joy.

    I’m running PHP 7.1.33

Also selecting preview for the chaplin theme on the wordpress.org site is giving me:

There has been a critical error on your website.

If I try and preview another theme, i.e. twentytwenty, it loads without problem.

Thanks for getting back in touch. Just before you replied I realised I could manually type in ‘Alata’ in the customiser for the header but NOT the body, although it was not present in the drop down selection boxes.

Actually, this is good enough for what I need. Would be handy for it to be in the drop down but this is by no means essential.

More pressing than this however is the fact I just updated the parent theme to 2.1.1 and now I’m getting a critical error!

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in D:\Websites\htdocs\mountaindogmotorcycles.com\wp-content\themes\chaplin\functions.php on line 357

OK, just checked on my wifes laptop and the instagram post displays fine (windows 8 – google chrome). On my development PC AND smartphone (android) it fails to show the posts image, upon inspection in google chrome I see these errors.

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()

I don’t get this when I inspect on my wife’s laptop which DOES display the post correctly.

    Any ideas?

Interesting… So there must be some kind of local problem on my PC. all I get is this.

Any ideas whats going on on my local machine? Windows 10 with google chrome. <edit> just tried it with Microsoft edge and it does the same, so presumably nothing to do with the browser.
