Thank you for your response, I thought that might be the problem. I have a website up as http://www.barefootbay.net that is a frontpage created site how can I have the blog in the blog folder and not have the site interfere with it. Do I have to move the location of the site to another domain?

I have finally figured out what the problem was. You have to go into the setting and set it for posts and archives etc. All is working great now and it is really quite easy to add the ads to all my posts.
