Please try upgrading to GrabPress 3.0.3, we fixed an issue on some older versions and instances of GrabPress that would prevent older video posts from rendering the player. Please let us know if you have any issues or questions after the upgrade to 3.0.3.

Assuming you’ve already created a video feed, once you grab a video embed from GrabPress > Video Feeds > Select Videos, you should be prompted to enter a size for your video player. The minimum size we allow is 300×250 (min size supported by our player). That should be small enough to fit on mobile devices, as most devices have higher resolutions now.

The player size options should also appear in the edit post > search for GrabPress videos (icon) workflow, as well as the GrabPress > Catalog search workflow.

In our next version, we’d like to also add the option for a responsive layout (player size will adjust to 100% width of DIV). However even when we add that feature, the player will still have a minimum width of 300 px wide.

I hope this answers your question, let us know if you need anything else.

We can’t help you troubleshoot this issue without some more information.

Can you send us a URL so we can try to replicate this issue on our end? This support forum is for the GrabPress plugin, not for WordPress SEO, so I’m not really sure how your comment ‘it recommended that I change my post path to be the Post Name’ is related to GrabPress – can you help us understand the association?

If you’re not comfortable posting it on the forums here, feel free to email support@grab-media.com, and reference the link to this support thread in your email, as well as the email associated with your Grab Media publisher account. Thanks.

    xxxhoop,

Regarding your statement ‘Having more than one site linked to one account is proving to be something that the new updated version cannot handle.’ can you be more specific about the problem you’re having?

You should be able to link several sites to the same Grab Media publisher account with no problem – we’ve done this countless times on our own GrabPress instances. All the video feeds you own (collectively) will appear on all sites that you link to the same Grab Media account, that is the expected behavior.

There should be no need to have a different set of feeds saved on each individual site (as there once was with GrabPress 2.3.7 and older, with the use of Autoposter), once they’re all linked to the same Grab Media publisher account, since we are no longer able to support remote automatic posting.

We posted the email that was sent out to our publishers last week here, which may have some helpful information about the release and upgrade process:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/grabpress-30-release-notes-for-publishers?replies=1

We encourage you to use GrabPress 3.0.1+, as we will no longer be supporting Autoposter in the future. We’d like to give our users a few weeks to make sure everyone has had time to upgrade, but going forward, Autoposter video feeds will no longer be supported, for the reasons stated in that link above.

Though we know that some of our publishers loved the remote posting feature of Autoposter, unfortunately, it was the cause of many problems. Additionally, when we submitted GrabPress to the WordPress.com and VIP plugins directory, we were required to force all users to a) authenticate all remote posts with WordPress.com credentials (which not all our Grabpress users have), b) integrate GrabPress with the WordPress API and Oauth for this authentication process – which caused a very high level of maintenance and compatibility, and c) require all self-hosted GrabPress users to install the most recent version of Jetpack.

Additionally, Google, other search services, and advertisers all informed us that GrabPress posts would get lowered in search rankings due to the lack of original content. Therefore, we thought it would be best for our users on several levels, to deprecate the use of Autoposter.

    1. Prompting editors to manually edit posts will not only improve SEO rankings, it will ultimately lead to a more engaging user experience for end users.

    2. Eliminating the technical dependencies on our self-hosted publishers to install the latest version of the Jetpack plugin (to support WordPress.com authentication) will allow us to keep technical issues and compatibility issues to a minimum.

    3. Eliminating the source of nearly all GrabPress support issues (Autoposter connectors), will result in a better user experience for our publishers and users.

    4. The elimination of all these technical complexities (Autoposter, Jetpack, WordPress.com authentication for remote posts) will allow our product and development teams to focus on new features – which in the end, we hope will bring even more features to GrabPress for our users to enjoy.

    newsthrottle,

Thanks for keeping us updated. We posted the email that was sent out to our publishers last week here, which may have some helpful information about the release and upgrade process:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/grabpress-30-release-notes-for-publishers?replies=1

The migration of video feeds for our registered publishers was a one time migration, just prior to the 3.0 release last week. Therefore, I don’t think there should be any issue with the API.

If you have any specific technical issues with regard to SSL support, or getting your migrated video feeds to appear once you link your Grab Media publisher account (in WordPress settings > GrabPress), assuming you had your GrabPress instances linked to a Grab Media account, please let us know the details so we can go from there.

Please note that if you are running GrabPress 2.3.7 (or older), we will not be supporting Autoposter feeds for much longer. The reasons for this are stated in the email we sent out (also in the link listed above). We encourage all our users to upgrade to GrabPress 3.0.1+ as soon as possible, eventually the old Autoposter feeds will stop working.

Also, since the feed migration already occurred last week (Autoposter feeds migrated to Catalog video feeds), then users who upgrade in the future, will need to manually recreate their video feeds after the upgrade. If you have any further questions about this, please send us your details and questions. Thanks again for using GrabPress.

    xxxhoop,

Can you please send us URL examples of this issue, or email them to support@grab-media.com, and reference this support thread (URL) in the email? Please also include your Grab Media publisher account (email address) associated with your GrabPress installations if you have one, as well as the name of your video feed(s) that this is in reference to.

Thanks for letting us know about this, and we hope to resolve this issue for you quickly.

    xxxhoop,

Please note that we emailed all GrabPress publishers prior to the 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 releases, to inform users that we would no longer be supporting the Autoposter feature. The information we sent to our registered publishers has also been posted to the support forums here for your reference:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/grabpress-30-release-notes-for-publishers?replies=1

    1. Note that if you were registered as a Grab Media publisher, then all your feeds were migrated to standard video feeds prior to the 3.0 release. All you have to do is link your 3.0+ GrabPress installation to your Grab Media account, and all your video feeds should be populated into the video feeds area.

If you inadvertently deleted your video feeds, then there isn’t much we can do to help you recover them. However, in GrabPress 3.0+, the feed creation process is much easier, due to the elimination of all the former Autoposter ‘post settings’ requirements. Therefore, setting up your video feeds should be much easier and quicker going forward, since all it requires is video search criteria (keywords, categories, content providers).

Though old versions of Autoposter/GrabPress already had features to prevent replication of video posts within the same video category (we allowed it if they were published to different WordPress categories), that should not be NOT be an issue in GrabPress 3.0+ going forward, since users are expected to manually select, edit and publish their video posts before they go live.

    2. Since we are no longer able to automatically post videos to your site remotely (Autoposter) in the newer versions GrabPress, there is no need to select a WordPress ‘post category’ anymore, since you will automatically be taken to the post editor when you select a video to post. Once you click the ‘create post’ button, you are taken to your post editor in your WordPress admin, where you select the post category in the right hand side of your UI.

    3. If the Video Feeds > Manage Feeds section of your GrabPress plugin is loading empty feeds, please send us your username and the URL for your site, and the feed names, so we can look into this for you. Without that information, we’re unable to research the issue you describe.

Thanks for using GrabPress. We hope that resolves items #1 and #2 above. We’ll wait for you to send us more information about #3 above (you can post it here, or send it to support@grab-media.com, and reference this support link in the email).

Please let us know if you have any more questions, or if we can be of further assistance to you. Like I mentioned above, the issue you described is not a known issue, and normally we’d ask you for more details on the types of errors you see in your browser stack, and on your server.

However, since Autoposter (used in GrabPress 2.3.7 and older) will no longer be supported in the future, it would be best to upgrade to 3.0.1+, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

If you look at the release announcement we sent to our registered publishers last week (also posted here in the support forums: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/grabpress-30-release-notes-for-publishers?replies=1), we eliminated the source of all known technical issues in the newest version of GrabPress. Please let us know if you have any further questions or if we can be of any help in getting your started with GrabPress.

We just released a patch fix to address this issue that affected some of our users since yesterday. Please upgrade to GrabPress 3.0.1 when you get a chance. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We worked very hard to get this issue resolved quickly – and we hope you enjoy using the new version of GrabPress!

We have added SSL support in GrabPress 3.0.0.

Please let us know if you continue to have any issues testing your site with Grabpress over HTTPs, and thanks for your patience while we worked on adding SSL support to our entire video platform.

This is not a known issue, but in order to try to answer it, we’d have to ask you for some more details – errors in the console, errors from your server, etc.

Perhaps you can uninstall 2.3.7, and try installing GrabPress 3.0, which we just released this week. We removed Autoposter for several reasons. Here is some information we emailed to the GrabPress publishers who registered for a Grab Media account (to earn ad revenue).

I hope this answers your questions and resolves your issues. Please email us at support@grab-media.com, or post a new support issue on this forum if you have any further issues or questions.

    Thanks for using GrabPress!

    1. Non-unique content (SEO): Auto-posted content that is not editorialized (i.e., only the content provided by the content provider is present in the post) may not be recognized by search engines as “unique” content, and can thereby be de-prioritized on search engine results pages.

    2. Technical Complexity: Due to new requirements from WordPress to authenticate remote Autoposter posts via the WordPress API, frequent maintenance is required which has a negative impact on product performance.

    3. Usability Improvements: The installation, account settings, and feed creation processes for GrabPress 3.0+ are easier than ever before, and the source of nearly all GrabPress technical issues (Autoposter connectors) has been eliminated.

Going forward, GrabPress users will still be able to create video feeds, but editors will need to post those articles manually. Users are encouraged to contribute unique content and commentary to video article postings to ensure that their content is ascribed as unique by search engines.

    eeb1,

We were originally planning to release GrabPress 2.4.1 to WordPress.org last year, but for several reasons, we decided to hold off, and wait until version 3.0.0 was ready. Grabpress 3.0.0 has been ready to release for a few weeks now, but we’re waiting for the last stages of SSL (HTTPS) end-to-end platform support work before the release.

Currently, our release date for Grabpress 3.0.0 (tested up to the latest version of WordPress), is slated for Tuesday, March 10th, 2015.

We have WordPress SEO installed on some of our test instances of Grabpress/WordPress, so we’ll check it out and let you know if we can replicate any of the issues you may be having.

Thanks for using GrabPress, and we hope you’ll upgrade to 3.0.0 next week.

    (@grabmedia)

We have taken several steps to offer SSL support in GrabPress. This required getting SSL certificates on dozens of systems and apps that support our video syndication platform, not just on our GrabPress systems – and testing our platform end-to-end. The good news is, we’re very close to releasing GrabPress 3.0 (we were originally planning a 2.4.1 release, but we’re skipping right to 3.0), and this will offer SSL support for everyone.

This was also a requirement for WordPress.com and supporting GrabPress in the WordPress VIP environment (and all our publishers who need SSL support), so it’s a win-win for all of us. I don’t have a hard release date to give you, but I can tell you that plan to have GrabPress 3.0 tested and ready to release in January 2015. It will likely take longer for GrabPress 3.0 to go through the VIP approval process (wordpress.com), but that will not hold up the release to the WordPress.org community. I hope that helps, and thanks for your patience.

We will look into this and get back to you – thanks for letting us know.

Would you mind sending us your domain or GrabPress API key (if you want, you can send to support@grab-media.com), just so we can check for any potential error logs?

    Plugin Author grabmedia

    (@grabmedia)

We are currently working on getting SSL certificates for all our domains and backend services. It requires installing SSL on a large number of systems, but we’re in the process of getting this done.

I will try to post here again once the work is done to let you know when we’re officially supporting SSL on GrabPress. We needed to do this for WordPress.com VIP, so that was the trigger that made us finally decide to prioritize this. Before that, I think we only had one or two people requesting it.

Note – the support page on grab-media.com was buggy for a few days due to unrelated system updates, but it should be working fine now.
