One last question:
will I be able to update the plugin in a usual way, or do I have to fetch the latest version of the plugin branch “activate fitvids on enable category hook”?

I had the same problem (Authorise button not working)
and it worked ok when I switched the default wordpress language from Spanish to English (UK)

I solved it by switching the default wordpress language from “Spanish” to “English (UK)” (Go to Settings->General->Site Language)The button just worked!
