In reply to: [WP_Places] Put in widget?hmm…not easily.
The information about a location is associated with a post.To be in the footer that same information would be associated with the entire site.
It’s logically different than the current approach. I think I might like to create that actually. I’ll let you know when I do.

In reply to: Internal Server ErrorUpdating?
Meaning, updating plugins? The usual solution is to login to your FTP server and move the plugins folder (thus deactivating them temporarily). At that point I’d check and see if it works…if it does…move them back and reactivate one by one until you see which one is causing the problem.

Steve,
Do the problems fix themselves when the plugin is disabled?

In reply to: How to change powered by wordpress in footer of Guardian Themeare you editing the template through the editor while logged in? Or are you editing the file directly?
As an aside…it’s generally considered best practice to make modifications in a child theme…that way if the main theme is updated it doesn’t blow up your changes.

In reply to: location specific eventsSure…the simple way would be to have a category for each location and add posts to that category…
There are tons of plugins that will do something similar as well. I’d recommend The Events Calendar…
I’ve actually recommended it twice this morning. I have no affiliation with that plugin…just a happy user.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Can No Longer Log In (Blank White Page)well…my suggestion would be to put
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
in your wp-config.php file temporarily and see if that throws out anything of value…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Separate Calendars and Bulletin Boards by BuildingCyndi,
Sounds pretty complex…
Include “The Events Calendar” in your plugin search.
You can easily view by location. My only hesitation is if it goes far enough for you….you can fairly easily change the filter to include multiple locations/organizers.
In any case, I’ve been very happy with that plugin and have found Modern Tribe to be helpful as well.

In reply to: Permalink changes for individual postsNate,
Having written posts only to realize I typo’d the title and thus the slug…
Having only realized this AFTER I sent out a promotional email…
Yes..it does functions that way. If you change the slug…the old one will still wok as well.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Email Change In My Admin Profile Won't UpdateConfused…so when you’re logged in you can’t change it in your profile?
Or you change it and it stays the same?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Cache PluginAre you on a managed host of some sort? Many hosts will include caching by default..
Also, some caching plugins add a comment to the html indicating what was served was pulled from cache. Can you poke through the source of the returned page and look for a comment that indicates that?Do you have a link?

In reply to: Posts not displaying properlywell…strange that you can’t edit the post (and that category shows up instead).
Can you post a screen shot to what is displayed when you click on the post to edit it on the wp-admin side?Posts are edited by ID # within wp-admin…so it’s strange.
