I don’t have an answer to your question (sorry), but I have a question for you:
I too am running a mac OS X server on Mavericks and I use the server.app to provide web hosting to students learning to code web sites (they do not have unique domain names).
I want to be able to host WordPress sites on this server too, but I am told it is not possible since Apple ditched MySQL for Postgres a few versions ago. I have tried multiple ways to install MySQL on the server for WP to use, but it has never worked.
So… I’m wondering if you could tell me how you got WP and MySQL running on your server?
BTW, I’m fine using the server.app but I’m terrible at the Terminal.
I’d appreciate any wisdom you can share.
