The workaround detailed here by Milos (@miloss84) and proposed there by wordregisteron (@wordregisteron) works well!
It’s the same one as the one offered by Lawrence Joe (@laranz) two messages up.
By applying the workaround mentioned by wordregisteron (@wordregisteron) and detailed by Milos (@miloss84), changes made using the Gutenberg editor are saved without issues while using the latest version of Elementor (4.3.4).
It is no longer necessary to retrograde to Elementor version 4.2.4.

I made exactly the same observation as tiger1609 !
I had to downgrade the Elementor plugin to version 4.2.4 to restore proper functionality.
This is not satisfactory regarding security updates.
