You can try this.
Go ahead and upload/add any image on the 4th slider then save and publish.
After it’s saved, delete the image from the 4th slider, the default image and the one you removed should not show anymore and you will have 3 sliders left.
You can add any image later on the 4th slider to use it. It worked on my end.
