Thanks for your quick reply. I was under the impression that plugins you see are for people with independent blogs that use the wp software and not for people like me that are using FREE wordpress.com blogs/themes? Is this true? If I’m not able to use plug-ins, any other suggestions? Thank you!
I’ve downloaded and unzipped what you recommended. Here are the instructions to install it:
1. Upload the «Maintenance» folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to Dashboard > Maintenance
My questions:
1. how do I get to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory in my blog through my dashboard? Where do I go? I’m not finding it anywhere.
2. I’m not finding a ‘Plugins’ menu, just a “widgets” menu under Appearances.
3. I don’t have a Maintenance category in my dashboard.
This is why I’m so confused. I’ve spent hours on youtube and google trying to figure this out but can’t find the menus/etc. in my dashboard that are needed to install. Can you recommend a video or screenshots? I appreciate the hand-holding, thank you! Or is this a moot point and I can’t install plug-ins at all?
