Nevermind – figured it out with some additional sleuthing.
Ok, I figured it out. I called up my host and it turns out I created my subdirectory the wrong way. Anyway, it’s all up and running now! Happy day!

Yes, all the wp files and their contents are within the ‘blog’ directory. They are arranged the same as when they are downloaded for the first time from WordPress.
The ‘blog’ directory is a folder I created in the root. This should be very simple, I know. I’m at a total loss!
