Hi,
I changed my tagline in Appearance > Customize > Site Identity, but the update doesn’t show on my actual page. It still displays the old tagline as if it hasn’t been edited.
I also changed the Site Identity under Settings > General and the new tagline shows up in the navigation bar, but the changes still won’t show on my actual homepage.
I’m using Zerif Pro Version: 1.8.4.3

I had the same problem – I called Bluehost and they downgraded my WP from 3.9 back to 3.8.3 and it restored all of my settings.
