You can add images in product gallery on edit product page. But they will display down below the product image.
If you want to place it right near to product image you can use CSS for this.

You have the 500 error on your server. Please send your request to your hosting provider.
You can delete Maintenance plugin via FTP, but the case of this error was not the plugin.

Now I can recommend you to use any other plugin for your website.

The products on wordpress.org are often in conflict with each other. To resolve this issue now use the priority product and disconnect the other.
The issue can be fixed only in the next version of plugin.Regards
