Unfortunately it’s not provided by design and theme options. Only way it’s custom development.
Try to add this CSS code to Theme Options > Custom CSS:

display: none;

Please be informed that this is not a bug. This is simply a default sidebar. If widgets is empty default sidebar is displayed as well.
If you don’t want to have the sidebar, select the full fidth page layout:
